A THOMASIAN emerged as the topnotcher in the September 2019 licensure exam for physicians, while the University was second among top-performing schools.

Federico Peralta IV topped this year’s examinations with a score of 90.92 percent.

Two other Thomasians ranked in the top 10: Eugene Richard Yap at fifth place with an 89.50-percent score and Patricia Monique Torres at ninth with a score of 89.08 percent.

Renz Paas, former sci-tech editor of the Varsitarian, was among this year’s passers.

UST posted a 99.31-percent passing rate, or 430 out of 433 examinees, higher than last year’s passing rate of 98.71 percent or 459 out of 465 examinees.

Ateneo de Manila University, Cebu Institute of Medicine and Pamantasang Lungsod ng Maynila were named top-performing schools after posting perfect passing rates.

The national passing rate rose to 84.96 percent or 4,006 out of 4,715 examinees, from last year’s 81.84 percent, or 3,717 out of 4,542 examinees.
