THE UNIVERSITY was the sixth top-performing school for the second straight year in the November 2019 licensure examinations for civil engineers.

UST posted an 81.86-percent passing rate, with 176 out of 251 examinees making the cut. The result was almost similar to last year’s 81.04 percent, or 171 out of 211 examinees.

Carlos A. Hilado Memorial State College in Talisay was named the top-performing school after recording a 98-percent passing rate, or 49 out of 51 examinees.

Lou Mervin Tristan Mahilum of the University of San Carlos led the newest batch of Filipino civil engineers with a 93.25-percent score.

The national passing rate slid to 43.18 percent, or 6,510 out of 15,075 examinees, from last year’s 45.09 percent, or 6,262 out of 13,887 examinees.
