THE UNIVERSITY on Monday lifted the indefinite suspension of campus activities imposed earlier this month as a precaution against Covid-19.
The Office of the Secretary General, in a memo dated Feb. 24, said all local in- and off-campus activities were allowed provided that necessary precautions and preventive measures recommended by the Department of Health were strictly followed.
Organizers of campus activities were advised to give a brief overview to participants on the institutional guidelines regarding the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), and provide adequate water supply, soap or alcohol-based sanitizers and wastebaskets.
Participants who have coughs and colds should be advised to wear masks, while those with fever should be directed to the Health Service and discouraged from participating in the event.
Events to be conducted in enclosed spaces should require participants to go through thermal scanning procedures at the entrance of the building or the enclosed venue.
Students and faculty members from outside schools will be required to accomplish a declaration form for foreign travel and flu-like symptoms.
Inbound foreign students must sign a consent form stating that they have been oriented on the University’s collective guidelines on the prevention and control of Covid-19 and will follow guidelines accordingly. The form must be co-signed by the coordinating official of the inbound student’s institution.
Administrative and academic officials were encouraged to evaluate “high-risk” activities and provide alternatives.
