The Faculty of Civil Law has partially lifted the preventive suspension it earlier imposed on members of the Aegis Juris Fraternity, Civil Law Dean Nilo Divina told the Varsitarian on Wednesday.

Divina also ordered members of the fraternity to “fully cooperate” with the investigation of the hazing incident that led to the death of law freshman Horacio Tomas Castillo III.

In a memorandum, Divina said he had partially lifted the suspension of fraternity members so they could make themselves available for investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation and the Manila Police District.

“We are lifting the portion of the preventive suspension order banning them from entering campus premises so that they can make themselves fully available for investigation,” Divina said.

“We also directed them to fully cooperate with the investigation of the proper committee and authorities,” Divina said.

Civil Law placed members of the Aegis Juris Fraternity on “preventive suspension” on Monday following the death of the 22-year-old Castillo in hazing rites.
