ACTING Rector Fr. Richard Ang, O.P. on Saturday sent his message of support to the UST Hospital staff for their “heroism, courage and sacrifices” amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.

“We salute all of you for fulfilling your God-given vocation and healthcare responsibilities for the good of the general public,” Ang’s message read.

“Your heroism, courage and sacrifices will never be forgotten and will be remembered for generations to come,” the message continued.

A penitential procession was held last Friday for the intentions of all service frontliners, barangay officials, police, doctors, nurses and other health workers.

Last March 14, UST Hospital confirmed that two of its patients tested positive for Covid-19 and one person under investigation being monitored. One of the two patients who tested positive was discharged after three days.

There are now 307 confirmed cases of Covid-19, according to the Department of Health as of this writing.
