ASST. PROF. Antonio Dayag of the UST-AMV College of Accountancy was named Outstanding Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Education by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Picpa) on Nov. 26.

Dayag was recognized for his “outstanding achievements and distinguished performance as a professional lecturer, educator and CPA reviewer.” 

Picpa also acknowledged Dayag as “a valuable contributor and focal person in various accounting education programs, committees and institutions that merited him numerous citations and recognitions in the academe,” as well as his “exceptional leadership and significant involvement in numerous activities and advocacies geared towards the advancement of the accountancy profession.”

Dayag told the Varsitarian he wanted to encourage his students to “do great things.”

Dayag teaches cost accounting and management advisory services. He worked as the University’s chief accountant from 1999 to 2005.

He served as external vice president of the National Association of Certified Public Accountants in Education in 2015 before becoming national president in 2016.

In 2018, he received the first Picpa Award for Accountancy Authors. Dayag has authored several accountancy books and reviewers for CPA licensure examinations since 2002. J.C. Ramos, C.J. Paras
