THE UNIVERSITY notched a 49.12-percent passing rate in the April 2023 licensure examinations for civil engineers, producing 56 new civil engineers out of 114 examinees.

UST’s passing rate dipped from November 2022’s 72.17 percent (223 out of 309 examinees).

Garret Sia of De La Salle University (DLSU) – Manila and Alexis Alegado of Mariano Marcos State University – Batac scored 92.10 percent to top the April 2023 examinations.

DLSU – Manila was named the top-performing school with an 88.99-percent passing rate, or 97 out of 109 examinees.

The national passing rate for civil engineers dipped to 34.76 percent, or 5,887 out of 16,936 examinees, from 39.34 percent, or 8,029 out of 20,407 examinees, in November.

The examinations were held from April 23 to 24.
