THE UNIVERSITY produced eight new architects in the special licensure examinations for architects held from June 16 to 17 in testing centers in the Middle East and Singapore.
According to results released by the Professional Regulation Commission on June 27, the number of Thomasian passers came from a pool of 13 examinees, good for a 61.54-percent passing rate.
UST produced the highest number of passers among 55 schools that fielded examinees in the special cycle.
Onofre Guiao of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology in Cabanatuan topped the special exams after scoring 81.60 percent.
Joining him as topnotcher is Marinelle Torcelino of Manuel L. Quezon University, who posted an 81-percent score.
The national passing rate in the special cycle stood at 38.71 percent, or 84 passers out of 217 examinees.
In the regular June 2024 cycle, UST emerged as the No. 2 top-performing school after 143 out of its 161 examinees, including two topnotchers, passed.
