10 September 2014, 9:04 p.m. – THE UST Tiger Jins are off to a strong start as they trounced Far
Eastern University, 6-1, and edged the University of the East, 4-3, to open
their UAAP season at the San Juan Arena, Tuesday.
Defending champion UST Lady Jins split their first two games
even as reigning Most Valuable Player Abigail Cham dominated the bantamweight
division.
The rookie-laden UST squad, which holds the record for most
championships in the women’s division with 13, suffered an early upset at the
hands of Ateneo de Manila University, 3-4, but bounced back against National
University, 5-2.
The UST Jins will try to continue their good start when
