Jan. 11, 2015, 7:59 p.m. – THE UST Lady Booters came out flat ang fell
against a fiery University of the Philippines squad, 0-4, in the UAAP Season 77
women’s football tournament at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field in Ateneo
Sunday.
As the
second half unfolded, Lady Booter Hazel Lustan tried to lead a UST comeback in
the 53rd minute, but UP goalie Jermaine Choa Peck held her ground.
Desperate
to score in the dying minutes, UST’s Nicole Ramores made one last attempt in
the 88th minute but missed.
UP came
out firing and scored all four goals in the first half, including one at the
45-second mark, mainly due to UST’s defensive lapses.
The Lady
Maroons continued the barrage with the fourth goal by Cristina Delos Reyes in
the 37th minute.
Lady Booters head coach JR Judal said his team had
a hard time finding their groove against UP.
“Hindi
ganyan ‘yung ineexpect namin na magiging laro ng mga bata. Miscommunication
‘yan sa backline. Kung na-hold sana yung first goal ng UP, hindi na siguro
masusundan,” Judal said.
UST, last season’s runner-ups, holds a 1-3 win-loss
