Jan. 23, 2015, 5:26 p.m. – THE UST Golden Booters collapsed
in the end game and dropped a 1-2 decision against De La Salle University in the
UAAP Season 77 men’s football tournament at the FEU-Diliman pitch Thursday.

With the game tied at 1-all with
only a minute left, La Salle’s Karlo Villamor converted a header from a
Nathaniel Alquiros cross to snatch the victory.

The Tiger Booters tried to equalize
but the La Salle defense kept them at bay as they fell to sixth place with a
2-0-5 win-draw-loss card.

The Green Archers remained
undefeated with a 4-3-0 record.

With UST trailing 0-1 at the
beginning of the second half, reserve Gabriel Alcantara made his presence felt
after converting a rebound play into a goal at the 47th minute to tie the
match.

“Actually we were playing
better than La Salle. Sadyang ‘yung goal keeper namin kulang sa
concentration,” said UST head coach Marjo Allado of his keeper who looked
disoriented chasing balls from outside the box.

David Diamante drew first blood for
La Salle as he banked an unexpected backward header at the 18th minute via
Gerald Layumas’ free kick from the middle of the pitch. Delfin Ray
