UST GOLDEN Judokas Chino Sy, Sydney Sy, and Khrizzie Pabulayan on Thursday bagged medals in the sambo, kurash and judo events in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Chino Sy bested Singapore’s Gary Chow, 4-1, for the gold in the men’s 82kg category in the sambo.

Sydney Sy settled for third place after succumbing to Thailand’s Tubkid Pattamaporn in the over 70kg division in kurash.

Pabulayan took home the bronze behind Myanmar‘s Su Khin Khin in the under 52kg half light division in women’s judo.

“Very fulfilling and nag-pay off lahat ng training namin. Nakaka-proud makapag laro sa Sea Games sa sariling bansa pa.” Chino told the Varsitarian in an online interview.

Chino Sy also bagged the gold medal on the 2nd Southeast Asian Sambo Championships at Kota Bandun, Indonesia last June.

Pabulayan, Chino Sy, and Sydney Sy will now prepare for their UAAP season 82 campaign next semester. J.A. Galaura Jr.
