UST Golden Booters collapse vs. UP

Feb. 8, 2015, 9:25 p.m. - AFTER winning big against University of the East last week, the UST Golden Booters stumbled against league-leading University of the Philippines, 1-4, in the second round of the UAAP Season 77 men's football tournament at the FEU-Diliman pitch Sunday.

The Golden Booters' two-game run came to an end and dropped to a 4-7 win-loss card. UST's chances of another trip to the Final Four are now slim to none.

Tiger Softbelles win first game of the season

Feb. 4, 2015, 3:09 p.m. - THE UST Tiger Softbelles scored their first win of the season after a 2-1 victory against the University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 77 Softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum Wednesday.

UST's Christy Joy Roa hit a home run deep into center field in the 7th inning to help the Tiger Softbelles improved to a 1-2 card.

Tiger Cubs end season with loss to Adamson

Jan. 31, 2015, 6:45 p.m. - THE UST Tiger Cubs ended their UAAP Season 77 campaign with a loss against Adamson University, 67-76, in the junior's basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle gym Saturday.

UST missed the Final Four for the second straight year after finishing the tournament with a 5-9 win-loss record, good only for sixth place.

Miguel Sasuman of Adamson buried a trey at the 6:02 mark of the payoff period to give the Baby Falcons a commanding 25-point lead, 72-47.

UST Golden Tigresses top NU for 3rd straight win

Jan. 28, 2015, 5:02 p.m. - ROOKIE Cherry Rondina led the UST Golden Tigresses in a 25-22, 25-19, 25-18 romp of the National University Lady Bulldogs in the second round of the UAAP Season 77 women's volleyball tournament at the MOA Arena Wednesday.
Rondina, who scored a team-high 15 points, caught fire in the third set unleashing a flurry of crosscourt attacks and also blocking the 6'4'' Jaja Santiago.

Tiger Spikers crush Bulldogs in straight sets

Jan. 25, 2015, 1:56 p.m. - THE UST Tiger Spikers smashed two-time defending champion National University in straight sets, 25-19, 28-26, 25-23, to open the second round of the UAAP Season 77 men's volleyball tournament at the San Juan Arena Sunday.

With the vicotry, UST joined Ateneo at second place with a 6-2 win-loss record, while NU remained tied with Adamson for first at 7-2.

In the third set, middle hitter Jason Sarabia uncorked an off-the-block spike to give the Tigers Spikers a 21-16 lead .

FEU outmuscles Tiger Cubs

Jan. 24, 2015, 6:47 p.m. - THE UST Tiger cubs suffered their second straight loss in a highly-physical match against the Far Eastern University, 48-57, in the UAAP Season 77 juniors' basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle gym Saturday.
The loss put the Tiger Cubs' Final Four contention in jeopardy as they are currently ranked sixth with a 5-7 win-loss record.
FEU started to slowly break the game wide open, 53-40, after Baby Tamaraw Brandrey Bienes opened the payoff period with five straight points, highlighted by a three-point play. 
The Cubs responded and trimmed the deficit to seven, 48-55, after back-to-back baskets from team captain Roald Mayor and Erik Marcelo, and a three pointer from Kim Santos.

NU ends UST Golden Booters’ winning streak

Jan. 11, 2015, 7:34 p.m. - THE UST Golden Booters saw their two-game winning run come to an end after a 1-3 loss against National University in the UAAP Season 77 men's football tournament at the FEU-Diliman pitch Sunday.

UST fell to a 2-4 win-loss record.

His team down by two heading into the second half, Golden Booter Dexter Bencio came through with a goal in the 78th minute. 

But NU answered quickly as Paolo Salenga hit the six-yard box with a tap in the 80th minute to give his team a 3-1 cushion.

‘Spark plug’ Rondina comes through for Golden Tigresses

REIGNING UAAP beach volleyball Most Valuable Player Cherry Ann Rondina’s high level of intensity has finally paid off after she led the struggling UST Golden Tigresses to a much-needed victory against the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws last Saturday, Jan. 10.

After dominating the sand court in the first half of the UAAP last year, the Cebuana standout has been quietly making an impact for the Golden Tigresses this season, acting as a spark plug off the bench.

Against the Lady Tamaraws and with prized recruit EJ Laure struggling, she finally exploded, delivering a career-high 16 points to help UST snap a five-game losing skid.
