Former UST volleyball star Mozzy Ravena recounts “painful” season for Tigresses

FORMER UST volleyball superstar and three-time UAAP champion Mozzy Ravena described Season 77 as "disappointing" for the Golden Tigresses after another failed attempt to enter the Final Four.

UAAP action takes a break for Papal Visit

Jan. 11, 2015, 10:10 p.m. - THE UNIVERSITY Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) will take a break from action to give way to Pope Francis’ visit on Jan. 15 to 19.

With the first round of volleyball action concluding on Jan. 11 after the finals rematch between defending champion Ateneo and La Salle, there will be no games throughout the Pontiff’s stay in the country.

Second round action will resume on Jan. 21.

Growling Tigresses bow to FEU, end campaign at fourth place

Sept. 21, 2014, 5:17 p.m. - THE UST Growling Tigresses capped a season of close defeats with another one against the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, 61-62, in the step-ladder semifinals of the UAAP Season 77 women's basketball tournament at the MOA Arena, Sunday.

The Tigresses are eliminated from the Final Four, while FEU will advance to the next round of the semifinals to face defending champion De La Salle University, which is armed with a twice-to-beat advantage.

Bagaman labing-isa lang ang naging huling abante ng Tamaraws, dominado ng FEU ang kabuuan ng laro.

Umabot sa 24 puntos ang pinakamalaking lamang ng FEU, 59-35, sa ikatlong yugto. Hindi naman nakatikim ng lamang ni minsan ang UST.

Guard play ng UST ikinatuwa ni Dela Cruz kontra Adamson

UST Growling Tigers face NU Bulldogs in UAAP opener

12 July 2014, 5:22 p.m. - UST will begin its Season 77 campaign tomorrow with the Growling Tigers taking on the National University Bulldogs at the Big Dome at 4 p.m. and the Tigresses facing defending champion La Salle at the Blue Eagle Gym at 3 p.m.

Fr. Ermito De Sagon, Institute of of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) director, assured Thomasians that UST was fielding a strong lineup across all sporting competitions in its bid to regain the overall championship.

But he acknowledged a tough competition ahead with the other schools also beefing up their respective rosters.
