STUDENTS will now have a say on Total Quality Management (TQM), as they will join faculty and non-academic personnel quality auditors in evaluating University offices this year.

According to Engr. Delfin Jacob, a member of the TQM Technical Support Group and executive assistant for planning and development, student leaders will be trained this semester to conduct quality audits on various University offices.

The trained student leaders are expected to carry on an awareness of “quality consciousness” once their offices start occupying the Student Center.

Meanwhile, the TQM Technical Support Group will extend quality management in classrooms by training faculty members and students in evaluating classroom activities.

Jacob said the classroom evaluation will be done on a weekly basis, unlike the Office for Academic Affairs evaluation, which is semestral.

A group from a class, composed of a faculty member and the students, will meet to discuss problems and issues in class encounters.

“The evaluation will benefit the faculty’s and the students’ performance, as problems will be discussed and resolved immediately by the weekly consultation,” Jacob said.

The faculty-student class evaluation will be implemented next semester. Miko L. Morelos
