TWO THOMASIAN sophomores will represent the country in international modeling competitions after winning the “2004 MTV Fashionista Best Model Search” last Nov. 24 at the Le Pavillon on Roxas Boulevard.

Bridgette Inoferio, an 18-year-old Tourism student at the College of Education, will be going to Istanbul, Turkey to compete in the “2004 Best Model of the World” on Dec. 11, while 16-year-old Kristel Tingzon, a Journalism student at the Faculty of Arts and Letters, will join the “2004 Top Model of the World” on April 2005 in Shanghai, China.

“I’m proud and happy that I got the chance to represent our country,” Inoferio, who is currently in Turkey, told the Varsitarian. “I’m hoping that when I get back, I’ll bring honor to our country.”

Tingzon and Inoferio, who is a Lady Spiker, bested eight other female finalists in the fourth annual MTV model search. The event’s judges included designers Inno Sotto and Lulu Tan Gan, publicist Keren Pascual, stylist Chechel Joson, make-up artist Juan Sarte, models Angel Jacob and Joan Bitagcol, photographer Jun de Leon, and fashion show director Alex Liu Bing An.

“Hindi ko ginusto (ang mag-model) nung una, pero nandito na rin naman ako kaya gagawin ko na ang best ko,” Tingzon told the Varsitarian. “I’m proud na Thomasian ang nanalo sa event.”

Aside from taking top places, Inoferio also took home the “Best in Swimwear,” “Legs to Die For,” and “Sexy in Jeans” awards. On the other hand, Tingzon was adjudged “most photogenic.” Reagan Tan, with reports from www.mtvasia.com
