IN CELEBRATION of the 40th anniversary of its foundation, the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) held its 39th Annual Convention last August 22-25 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Research Center.

With the theme “Philippine Psychology: Inspirations and Aspirations”, the PAP acknowledged the people significant in the building of the organization’s legacy of excellence.

In addition, the PAP’s various goals, in relation to the field of psychology in the country, was discussed.

PAP vice president and 2000-2002 program chair Dr. Lucila O. Bance said that the convention helped professionals enhance their psychological skills.

There were presentations on current researches and professional activities of Philippine psychologists, as well as discussions and workshops on how psychology can grow and prosper in the Philippines.

Participants in the convention were Psychology faculty members from UST, De La Salle University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Xavier University, University of the Philippines in Baguio and Diliman, Assumption Graduate School, and even the Chinese University of Hongkong. Elka Krystle R. Requinta
