January 20, 2016, 9:06p.m. – FORMER rector Fr. Rolando de la Rosa, O.P. is now a member of Spem Miram Internationalis, an organization financially supporting advocacies of the 800-year-old Dominican Order.

Fr. de la Rosa, dean of the Faculty of Sacred Theology and director of the Office for Grants, Endowments and Partnerships in Higher Education, was assigned to the Dominican organization last Jan. 13

Aided by the teachings of St. Dominic de Guzman, Spem Miram Internationalis provides financial support for the scholarships and programs that support the mission of the Order of Preachers.

Board members of the organization meet twice a year to review requests for financial grants. 

Spem Miram Internationalis takes its name from the ancient hymn of St. Dominic titled, “O, Spem Miram,” meaning “O Wonderful Hope.” Lea Mat P. Vicencio
