Sept. 22 2016, 11:00 p.m. – A THOMASIAN neurologist has been recognized by an international mass media and information firm during the Philippines Promising Star Awards 2016, for his research on neuroscience and behavior.

Raymond Rosales, chairman of the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry of UST Hospital, was acknowledged by the Intellectual Property and Science Business of Thomson Reuters for his research papers compiled in the Web of Science Core Collection.

Rosales was the only awardee from UST.

11 other professors from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Manila and Los Baños, and De La Salle University-Manila were recognized for their contributions in nine research fields.

The research papers recognized were in the fields of social science, computer science, clinical medicine, plant and animal science, neuroscience and behavior, economics and business, molecular biology and genetics, materials science and environment or ecology.

The recipients were chosen from over 13,500 research papers produced in the country from 2006 to 2015.

Rosales was recognized as a Gold Series awardee in the UST Research Recognition Awards for the years 2003 and 2016.

The Gold Series Award is given to tenured full-time faculty members with doctorate or master’s degrees who have research projects and have authored at least three research papers in refereed journals in the last five years.
