THE UNIVERSITY posted an 87.18-percent passing rate in the Aug. 2018 licensure examinations for mechanical engineers, making it the fourth top-performing school in the country.
A total of 102 out of 117 Thomasian examinees passed the licensure exams. Last year’s passing rate was 88.24 percent, and UST clinched the seventh spot among the top-performing schools.
Fernando Remojo Jr. of Southern Luzon State University in Lucban, Quezon led the country’s new batch of mechanical engineers, getting a score of 92.65 percent.
Malayan Colleges Laguna was this year’s top-performing school, with a 94.74-percent passing rate or 54 out of 57 examinees.
The national passing rate slipped to 60.81 percent, or 3,092 out of 5,084 examinees, from last year’s 69.01 percent, or 3,517 out of 5,096 examinees.
