THE UNIVERSITY failed to maintain its three-year reign as the sole top-performing school in the licensure exams for architecture.

UST’s passing rate in the January 2019 exam slid to 76.85 percent or 83 out of 108 examinees, from last year’s 85.71 percent, or 120 out of 140 examinees.

Thomasian Emmanuel Josemarie Teruel clinched the 10th spot in the list of topnotchers with a score of 81.50 percent.

Justin Lei Ramos from Cebu Institute of Technology University led this year’s batch of examinees with an 83.80-percent score.

The University has been the top-performing school in said exam since 2016.

Mapua University in Intramuros, Manila was this year’s top-performing school, with an 84.31-percent passing rate or 43 out of 51 examinees.

The national passing rate slipped to 56.28 percent, or 1,120 out of 1,990 examinees, from last year’s 57.60 percent or 1,126 out of 1,955 examinees.
