FORMER English department head Prof. Camilla Vizconde has been appointed assistant dean of the Graduate School, a new post, for Academic Year 2019-2020.
Vizconde, who will serve alongside Graduate School Dean Michael Anthony Vasco, earned her bachelor’s degree in education, with honors, in UST.
She obtained her masters in English as a Second Language and doctorate in reading education from the University of the Philippines.
Vizconde co-authored University textbooks, such as the English 1 worktext, Managing College Freshmen Skills in English; and English 2, Enhancing the Reading and Thinking Skills of College Students.
She served as a treasurer of the Linguistics Society of the Philippines, the academic organization of linguists, from 2015 to 2018, and worked as a textbook evaluator for the Department of Education.
