THE FACULTY of Civil Law on Monday announced the extension of the second term of Academic Year 2019-2020 to June 15, 2020.

The extension was made in view of the decision of the Supreme Court to defer the Bar examinations to next year and “the pressing need to conduct academic intervention to assess students,” according to a memorandum issued by Civil Law Dean Nilo Divina.

Faculty members were encouraged to conduct online class and instruction and communicate with the students during the extended term, and finish the course coverage for the benefit of the students.

The final examination period will be from June 16 to June 24, 2020, and the new deadline for submission of grades is on July 1, 2020.

On April 29, 2020, the Supreme Court released the 2019 Bar examination results, with a total of 2,103 examinees, or 27.36 percent of the 7,685 who took the Bar exams, making the cut.

On the same day, it announced the postponement of the 2020 Bar examinations to give the court enough time to “determine the necessary adjustments and to make adequate preparations for the safe and orderly conduct of the examinations” which, it said, would most likely be in 2021.
