NAGHAIN ng petisyon ang UST Civil Law Student Council (UST-CLSC) sa mga tagapangasiwa ng Unibersidad na muling repasuhin at linawin ang mga binawas na bayarin mula tuition ng mga estudyante ng Faculty of Civil Law para sa Taong Akademiko 2020-2021.
Sa isang liham, sinabi ng UST-CLSC na hindi lahat ay pamilyar sa paraang “enhanced virtual learning” na tugon ng Unibersidad sa gitna ng pandemya.
“Not all students in the Faculty are financially secure to have laptops of their own or access a strong internet connection that would let them access their right to education,” saad sa liham nitong ika-31 ng Hulyo.
“In line with this, the CLSC would like to submit this appeal to the UST administrators for a reconsideration of the reduction of fees, and clarifications on all items listed in the recently issued Schedule of Fees for A.Y.: 2020-2021,” dagdag pa nila.
Giit pa ng konseho, bagama’t nagkaroon ng pagbaba sa ibang bayarin sa tuition ay mabigat pa rin ang gastusin para sa ibang mga estudyante.
“Although there are significant reductions on the total amount of tuition and other fees for First Term A.Y. 2020-2022, the fact remains that fees to be paid will still impose financial challenge to our students and their families,” saad sa liham.
Nagbukas rin ang CLSC ng online na petisyon upang bawasan muli ang mga bayarin sa tuition at iba pang fees, at inanyayahan ang sinumang nais pumirma na sumama rito.
