The right-wing page “The Right Thomasian” has been deleted off Facebook, a week after drawing heavy criticism for red-tagging the head of the UST journalism program.
The Facebook page had been operating since April 11, 2020.
The Varsitarian learned about the deletion of The Right Thomasian on Monday, but some social media users have found the page down as early as Sunday.On Dec. 28, it claimed that a faculty member was recruiting students for the communist rebellion.
The page left the clues “Pilipinas,” “Salbabida” and “‘the second,” in apparent reference to UST journalism program head Felipe Salvosa II.
Salvosa denounced the allegations, saying that whoever was running the page was “spreading a malicious and unfounded accusation via a seemingly innocuous blind item.”

In April 2020, the same month it was created, the page drew backlash and was mass-reported for “harassment” after it “[red-tagged] vocal Thomasians online.”
According to Facebook’s help center, pages get unpublished if they violate the website’s community standards, such as by misleading people and posting hate speech.
