FR. LOUIE Coronel, O.P. is officially the new secretary general of UST.
Coronel had been secretary general in an acting capacity since June. A circular from the Office of the Secretary General dated July 15 announced his permanent appointment.
Coronel, who is also regent of the College of Science, replaced Fr. Jesus Miranda, Jr., O.P., who is now the prior of the Priory of St. Thomas Aquinas.
The office also announced the appointment of Edwin Fonacier as the University cashier.
Electronics engineering department chair Assoc. Prof. Angelo dela Cruz was named acting dean of the Faculty of Engineering, replacing Prof. Philipina Marcelo.
Asst. Prof. Jerralyn Padua was named acting dean of the newly minted College of Information and Computing Sciences.
Philippe Jose Hernandez was designated acting director of the Communications Bureau, replacing Fr. Christopher Jeffrey Aytona, O.P., who is now with the Caleruega Retreat Center in Batangas.
Asst. Prof. Faye Abugan was named assistant director of the bureau.
