UST recorded a 100-percent passing rate in the May 2022 licensure examinations for nurses, in which the University fielded five examinees.

The University has recorded perfect passing rates in every nursing board examination cycle since 2015.

Thomasian Francheska Chua placed 10th in the May 2022 examinations with a score of 87.40 percent. She tied with eight other examinees.

Keziah Gonzales of Emilio Aguinaldo College Manila and Nora Staveley tied at No. 1 to lead the newest batch of nurses with 90-percent scores.

Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Med. Found. was named the No. 1 top-performing school with a 98.28-percent passing rate, or 57 out of 58 examinees.

The Professional Regulation Commission requires schools to have at least 50 passers and at least an 80-percent passing rate to be named a top-performing school.

UST failed to climb the top-performing school list as it fielded only five examinees this year.

The University had a five-year streak of being the top-performing nursing school in the country until it was snapped in July 2021 due to low examinee turnout.

The last time UST had a huge number of examinees in the nursing examinations was in November 2019, when all 338 of its examinees passed.

The national passing rate rose to 68 percent, or 6,616 out of 9,729 examinees, from November’s 51.45 percent, or 6,086 out of 11,828 examinees.

The exams were conducted from May 29 to 30. Justin Benedict Lim
