ASPIRING Thomasian leaders may file their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for this year’s UST Central Student Council (CSC) elections by the end of the month, the UST Central Commission on Elections (Comelec) has announced.

According to UST Central Comelec Memorandum No. 2, the commission will accept COCs on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

All election activities for this academic year will still be conducted online, UST Central Comelec chairwoman Noelle Isungga told the Varsitarian

Political parties may file for accreditation from Feb. 23 to 24. 

The Central Comelec accreditation is a requirement for political parties to participate in the CSC elections. Since 2020, all candidates have run independently, as no political party was accredited by the Central Comelec.

Candidates who filed their COCs with deficiencies may submit their missing requirements from March 1 to 2. 

The official list of candidates will be released on March 2.

Campaign periods will run only from March 3 to 8 and March 20 to 25. No campaign activities will be allowed from March 9 to 19 due to the moratorium period.

Tagisan, the mandatory debates for candidates running for executive board posts, will be held on March 25.

Students may cast their votes from March 27 until April 1.

The canvassing of votes and proclamation of winners will be on April 1. Logan Kal-El M. Zapanta
