The Tiger Media Network team receives their awards in the 83rd Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) College Media Conference on Saturday, Feb. 25, in New York City.

THE TIGER Media Network (TMN), the official broadcasting arm of UST, won six awards in the 83rd Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) College Media Conference on Saturday, Feb. 25, in New York City.

Tiger Radio, one of the two divisions of TMN, won Best Streaming/Online-Only Radio Station for schools with more than 10,000 students.

It was nominated alongside the campus radio stations of the University of West Georgia, Arizona State University, College of the Desert, Cerritos College, DePaul University, and the University of Illinois in Chicago.

The social media accounts of UST Tiger TV and UST Tiger Radio, which are headed by Jasmin Maat, bagged the Best Social Media Account award.

Advertising arts senior Charlene Go won the Best Creative Services Director for Television award.

Three Thomasians won the Len Mailloux Management Award, named after Len Mailloux, a long-time news director and programmer for Boston radio and communications associate professor at Simmons College in Boston.

TMN adviser Asst. Prof. Faye Abugan bagged the management award as Best Faculty Advisor for Television, while communication senior Janis Santiago was named Best Student Station Manager for Television. Marketing junior Angelica Mendoza won Best Promotions Director for Television.

TMN was a finalist for seven other awards in the IBS conference and was nominated for four more Len Mailloux Management Awards.

Last year, the UST Tiger TV bagged four awards in the conference.

The IBS Media Awards is part of the annual multimedia conference organized by IBS, the oldest collegiate broadcasting association in the United States.

For the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic, the conference was held in person from Feb. 24 to 25.
