THE UST Golden Booters opened the season with a slim victory over the National University Bulldogs, 1-0, in the UAAP Season 82 men’s football tournament at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium Thursday.
Off the bench, rookie Stephen Marasigan‘s inside kick at the 81st minute scored the Golden Booters’ lone goal.
Bulldog Bryan Ybanez made a throw-in attempt to equalize the game in the extension period, but goalkeeper Ralph Logronio’s tight defense sealed the win for UST.
The win gave three points to the Golden Booters in the tournament ranking.
UST will next face the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles on March 8, Sunday, 1:30 p.m. at the same venue. Rommel Bong R. Fuertes Jr.
