March 25, 2015, 10:55 a.m. – LITERARY works of Thomasian
writers were showcased in a flash fiction anthology launched Tuesday at the
Tanghalang Teresita Quirino of the UST Graduate School.

Titled “Fast Food Fiction Delivery,” the book is a
collection of flash fiction, short literary creations from different writers
often marked by a distinct number of words used to create the piece.

Thomasian writers whose stories were featured in the book
read their works and signed copies.

“In the age of Facebook [and] tweet[s], flash fiction is a
form that fits the taste of majority of readers today,” said Palanca-winning
poet Mookie Katigbak-Lacuesta, who is co-editor of the book.

According to Lacuesta, the book is an entity that is “sort
of a hybrid between poetry and fiction, of which the boundary is blurred.”

Literary works by UST Center for Creative Writing and
Literary Studies Director Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo, Palanca awardee Carlomar
Arcangel Daoana, Augusto Antonio Aguila, fomer Varsitarian managing editor
Brylle Tabora, and fictionist Paolo Enrico Melendez were included in the
anthology.

Noelle De Jesus also co-edited the book. The launching was a
collaboration between Anvil Publishing Inc. and the UST Literary Society as
part of festivities for this year’s Arts and Letters Literature week. Alpine
