THE COLLEGE of Physical Therapy has changed its name to the College of Rehabilitation Science in a bid to improve its academic image.

According to Dean Consuelo Suarez, the change will correct the impression that the College only offers Physical Therapy.

Aside from Physical Therapy, the college also offers Occupational Therapy. It plans to offer Speech Pathology and Sports Science next schoolyear.

“We chose to change the name of the College, because it is more encompassing, mas wholistic ang approach, unlike the previous name which is very limited in context,” said Suarez.

The IPT is the country’s leading institution in Physical Therapy education, consistently registering a high passing rate in licensure exams and producing several board topnotchers since its creation in 1974.
