THE UST Golden Corps of Cadets (UST-GCC) outshone 24 other schools as the Best ROTC Unit in the National Capital Region Annual Administrative Performance Evaluation held on March 4 at the Quirino Grandstand.

“I feel so fulfilled that we were able to represent UST and bring honor to the University before we leave the Golden Corps,” outgoing Corps Commander Joyce dela Cruz told the Varsitarian.

UST-GCC also brought home eight other awards, including Best in Disassembly and Assembly of M16 & Caliber .45, Best in Company Drill, Best in Rank Inspection, Best in Ceremonial Parade, Best in Methods of Instruction, Best in Small Unit Tactics, and Best in Written Examination.

“Our championship confirmed that we truly were able to teach our Thomasian cadets well since they performed their best during the event,” Dela Cruz said.

The competition is held annually to evaluate the performance of the ROTC units. Officers from the Philippine Army serve as judges. Jamaila S. Cahilig
