BISHOP Rex Andrew Alarcon of Daet, Camarines Norte will lead the Misa de Apertura, which marks the start of the new academic year in the University, on Aug. 1 at the Santisimo Rosario Parish Church.
A procession of deans, principals and institute directors will be held at the beginning of the Misa de Apertura or the Mass of the Holy Spirit.
The Discurso de Apertura, or the lecture delivered by a professor for the opening of classes, will be given by Dr. Ma. Minerva Calimag of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.
A reception will follow at the main lobby and mezzanine of the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. Building.
General freshmen orientation activities will be held on Aug. 2 to 5.
The annual Thomasian Welcome Walk, during which the newest batch of Thomasians will pass through the historic Arch of the Centuries, is scheduled on Aug. 6. Charm Ryanne C. Magpali
