THE CITY Council of Daly City, Californina has passed a resolution naming a landmark after a late Faculty of Arts and Letters professor.

The Serra Station Townhouse Project Community Room will be named after the late Alice Bulos in 2020.

Bulos, who succumbed to heart failure at the age of 86 last Oct. 21, was a sociology professor and head of the UST Sociology Department before resigning in 1977 to be an employment counselor in Sacramento, California.

In 1987, she founded the Thomasians USA Alumni Association, now led by Architect Joseph Palafox.

Bulos served as charter president of the Fil-Am Democratic Club in San Mateo County, regional chairwoman of the National Filipino-American Women’s Network and board member of the National Asian/Pacific Democratic Council.

She also served as an appointee of US President Bill Clinton to the Federal Council on Aging from 1993 to 2000, and was a representative to the White House Conference on Aging in 1995.

A stretch of California State Route 35 may also be memorialized after Bulos.
