DOMINICAN Prior Provincial and University Vice Chancellor Fr. Napoleon Sipalay, Jr., O.P. will lead the Misa de Apertura or opening Mass, signalling the start of the new academic year amid a pandemic, on Aug. 12 at the Santisimo Rosario Parish Church.
Because of Metro Manila’s return to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine, only Dominican fathers will be present at the University chapel.
The installation of Fr. Richard Ang, O.P. as the 97th Rector Magnificus of the University was postponed, according to a memo from the Office of the Secretary General dated Aug. 3.
The memo called on the Thomasian community to join the Mass virtually, through a livestream on the University’s official Facebook page.
Classes will begin on “enhanced virtual mode” on Aug. 13.
