THE UNIVERSITY notched a 64.62-percent passing rate in the May 2023 licensure examinations for chemical engineers, as 42 of its 65 examinees made the cut.
UST’s passing rate slightly improved from 61.60 percent in the October 2022 examination, in which 77 out of 125 examinees passed.
Christian Balboa of De La Salle University Manila scored 92.60 percent to lead the country’s newest batch of chemical engineers.
University of the Philippines Diliman was named the No. 1 top-performing school after obtaining a 96.67-percent passing rate, or 29 out 30 examinees.
The national passing rate rose to 58.93 percent, or 472 out of 801 examinees, from 51.25 percent, or 531 out of 1,036 examinees, in October.
The examinations were held from May 16 to 18.
