THE UNIVERSITY posted an 83.33-percent passing rate in the April 2023 licensure examinations for electrical engineers, in which 25 out of 30 Thomasian examinees made the cut.

UST’s latest passing rate was a decrease from its 90.22-percent score in the September 2022 cycle, in which 83 out of 92 Thomasians passed.

Christian Guevarra of Rizal Technological University topped the April board exams for electrical engineers with a score of 93.25 percent.

Polytechnic University of the Philippines Sto. Tomas was named the top-performing school after posting a perfect passing rate with 56 examinees.

The national passing rate for electrical engineers rose to 57.86 percent (3,339 out of 5,771 examinees) from 50.20 percent (2,467 out of 4,914 examinees) in September.

UST did not field any examinees in the licensure examination for master electricians in this exam cycle.

Nelvin Galupo of the University of Eastern Philippines Catarman and Kenneth Guiwo of the Isabela State University Ilagan tied at No. 1 with a score of 95 percent.

There was no top-performing school in the examination for master electricians.

The national passing rate for master electricians dipped to 42.21 percent (986 out of 2,336 examinees) from 63.08 percent (2,433 out of 3,857 examinees).

The exam for electrical engineers was conducted from April 25 to 26, while the master electrician exam was held on April 27.
