Sa College namin, ang mga Theology professors are doing their job well. They are efficient enough in teaching us and promoting to us Christian values. They are successful in instilling in us good values that would mold us into becoming successful and responsible Catholics. Our professors are committed in their vocation. I suggest that new theology professors employ lively teaching methods, because obviously, Theology is a boring subject.

I actually don’t have any comments on the actual lessons, but I have something to say about how a particular professor taught them. A certain professor showed discrimination towards non-Catholics and non-Christians. He spoke of how a particular religion was made up of “war-crazy” people, and of how non-Catholics do not know how to use the Bible. Also, this professor made fun of how he thinks people of other religions pray. Being a Protestant, I was deeply offended. I guess if I were to talk of learning from Theology classes, I would say that I learned that some people do not practice what they preach. And even if they do, they choose the people they practice it on. Sometimes, I wonder why they even teach Theology. Because from what I see, they need Theology instructions more than the students.

AB prof named professor emeritus

My professors are effective in terms of their way of teaching. They’re cool. Yung professors ko kasi employed open discussions in teaching us, which is good for a boredom-prone subject.

Ang Theology kasi halos paulit-ulit lang. Kaya minsan nakaka-bore. Pero, in fairness to the (Theology professor), I had a professor who had a good teaching method.

I think there is a common factor that characterizes the Theology professors. Pare-pareho silang mahilig umabsent. And what I have observed is that. They lack the capacity to teach “spiritual or religious topics” to their students. Most of them are book-dependent. To cite an example, during my first year, I had a professor who suffered from “chronic absenteeism”. I suggest that Theology professors, for them and their subject to be treated seriously by their students, should never stop from searching for a practical but beneficial method of teaching. I believe that knowing one’s spirituality is important. That is why a good scheme is needed for it to be effectively taught.

Siguro nagiging boring ‘yung theology classes for some students, kasi hindi naman lahat Catholic. You learn he lesson by heart. The teacher lets us experience (the lessons) suggested by the Bible.

Kaya parang nahihirapan silang magpunta. Nagiging boring yung Theology kasi some people say it’s all about basic knowledge about God. It is better siguro na they serve as good role models, lalo na’t itinuturo nila Theology.

Hindi naman ako nagkaroon ng ganoon kalaking problema in taking up the course, because, I believe that I have enough knowledge about the subject. Okay naman ‘yung mga naging professor ko. ‘Yun nga lang naging problema namin ‘yung pagiging madalas umabsent nu’ng isang professor namin nu’ng first year. Pagkatapos ‘yung isa naman (professor) masyadong bookish.
