19 June 2014, 10:00 p.m. – THE UNIVERSITY ranked second in the recent architecture licensure examinations, which saw two Thomasians entering the top 10.

UST posted an 81.89-percent passing rate, with 199 successful examinees out of 243, results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) earlier today showed.

This was higher than last year’s 73.79 percent, wherein 152 passed out of 206 examinees.
The University of San Carlos was named the top-performing school this year, after it got a 90-percent passing rate.

The Cebu university had 45 passers out of 50 examinees.
The PRC requires at least an 80-percent passing rate and a minimum of 50 examinees to be declared a top-performing school.

Leading the new batch of Thomasian architects is Kenneth Guarino, who placed seventh with a score of 84.60 percent.

He shared the spot with Karla May Gallardo of Baguio’s Saint Louis University.
Another Thomasian, Marie Ashley Mendoza, landed on eighth place with a score 84.40 percent.

Last year, only one Thomasian made it to the top 10.
The national passing rate went up to 61.01 percent, with 1,100 successful examinees out of 1,803.

This was higher than last year’s 50.99 percent, wherein 901 examinees passed out of 1,767. J. P. Villanueva
