THREE THOMASIANS made it to the top 20 examinees of the December 2016 industrial engineering certification examination, results from the Industrial Engineering Certification Board showed.
Leading the new batch of certified Thomasian industrial engineers was John Patrick Fernando, who landed on the 10th spot with a score of 82.43 percent.
Hector Louis Banda ranked 11th with a score of 82.16 percent, along with Anjelou Ibañes of the University of the Philippines (UP) Los Baños.
Thomasian Reycel Borja placed 19th with a score 79.19 percent. She shared the spot with Jochebed Bombita of UP Los Baños.
This year, UST posted a 93.42-percent passing rate. A total of 71 Thomasians passed the exam.
The national passing rate declined to 67.10 percent, with 522 passing the exam out of 778 takers, compared with last year’s 74.33 percent or 336 out of 452.
The certification program, now on its eighth year, is administered to validate an individual’s qualification in the field of industrial engineering.
