DESPITE not landing in the top 20, the University got the highest rank in top performing schools in the 100 and above category during the Certified Public Accountancy (CPA) licensure examination this month.

Out of UST’s 115 examinees, 46 students passed, good for a 40 percent passing rate.

Karen Joy Digo was the best performing among the UST takers, with 83.43 percent.

Prof. Minerva Cruz, chair of the Department of Accountancy, said that the May exam is seasonal. But in the October CPA examinations, UST always makes it among the top examinees, she added.

The national passing rate was 19.04 percent (1,017 out of 5,341 examinees passed).

Last October, out of 226 examinees, 55 percent passed. It was the highest UST posting in 10 years. Ma. Cristina S. Lavapie
