Varsitarian now on ‘film’

FIRST it was online. Now, it is on “film.”

Past issues of the Varsitarian can now be accessed in microfilm format at the Archives section of the UST Central Library.

One of the publication’s projects in connection with the celebration of its 75th anniversary, the idea of microfilming of Varsitarian issues came from current managing editor Edumar Madlangbayan.

According to Madlangbayan, he proposed the plan because “you can never really immortalize an event in paper because it deteriorates.”

AS A precautionary measure against SARS, the UST Museum decided to cancel its annual summer art workshop for children.

“Next year we are supposed to negotiate again the economic provision, which will mean of course that there will be another round of tuition increase,” Tadle said.

UST writers workshop successful

TWELVE young writers were named fellows to the Fourth UST National Writers Workshop organized by the UST Center for Creative Writing and Studies (CCWS) last April 24 to 29 in Baguio City.
