BURGLARS broke into the Timbale canteen at the back of the Beato Angelico Building last month, taking around P10,000 from the cash register.

According to the University’s Security Office, the burglars scaled the perimeter wall by climbing up the cement post of the steel fence along España Boulevard.

Security guard Leopoldo Valmera, who discovered the intrusion a little after midnight, said he saw the lower part of the canteen’s glass door smashed. It was apparently caused by a steel chair found near the door. The intruders took the cash register.

THE OFFICE for Community Development (OCD) launched the first Action Camp for Thomasian Students (Acts), which seeks to rally Thomasian volunteerism in helping build houses for Aytas in Sitio Mabilog, Tarlac this summer.

According to OCD director and Acts project coordinator Joey Cruz, the housing project, the first of its kind for UST, will benefit the University’s 16 partner communities.

THE UNIVERSITY will introduce new or modified academic programs in the Conservatory of Music, Institute of Technological Courses (ITC), College of Education and the Faculty of Arts and Letters next school year, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Armando de Jesus told the Varsitarian.

Salve Regina… linukob ng malalamyos na tinig sa isang awiting alay sa Mahal na Birhen ang buong lugar. Mater misericordiae… awiting puno ng pagsusumamo sa lahat ng mga karupukang dinaranas. Dulcis Virgo Maria… puno ng pasasalamat sa isa na namang araw na paghubog upang maging isang tunay na alagad ng Diyos.

IPINAGDIRIWANG ng Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) ngayong Marso ang ikalawang taon nang pagkakatatag nito, sa pamamagitan ng pagdaraos ng kauna-unahang Linggo ng IPEA na ginanap mula Marso 4 hanggang 9.

Bilang pagkilala sa mga naiambag nito sa Unibersidad, sinubukang balikan ng Varsitarian ang maikling kasaysayan ng musmos na institusyon.

THE UNIVERSITY is all set to go high-tech as digital identification cards will be issued to Thomasians next school year.

In line with the full computerization of the University, Secretary General Fr. Winston Cabading, O.P. said the University is negotiating with the company Unlimited Solutions to provide UST with the apparatus needed for the new digital identification card system’s full implementation.
